15"(38 cm) Superb Antique French Bisque Poupee Fashion doll from Parisian Shop of Aux Reves des Enfants

Bisque swivel head on bisque shoulder plate with Dehors neck articulation allowing side-to-side and forward tilts of the head (as well as classic swivel), very plump facial features, dark glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale accented lips, unpierced ears, mohair wig, original cork pate, kid poupee body with a wooden knee joint, bisque lower arms.

Condition: generally excellent.
15" (38 cm.) tall.
Marks: "Aux Reves Des Enfants, SPECIALITES DE POUPEES 40, Rue de Richelieu, Paris" (blue oval stamp on torso).

Exclusive model for the luxury doll shop,circa 1865.
The doll was presented by the boutique Aux Reves des Enfance under the directorship of Georgette Fanny Boiseau. Her original boutique labels indicating quality production for the prestigious boutique that was described in the childrens magazine Psyche in 1863.

Very beautiful early doll with rare neck articulation system,very sturdy body,rare boutique label,wearing superb antique original batiste dress and straw hat with flowers, antique underwear, socks, shoes.

AUX REVES D'ENFANTS (dreams of children) - very famous luxury doll shop. This is doll and toy shop which manufactured its own articulated poupees, located at 40, Rue de Richelieu, Paris.
This shop claimed to manufacture articulated dolls. An oval signature stamp was used at this time including the name of the store and its adress, and in the center "SPECIALITES DE POUPEES".
On October 1878 the company was sold.

Very rare to find today the dolls of this shop!
