A luxury Bebe Phonographe From Jumeau with Lioret Mechanism
Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes,painted lashes,brush- stroked brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,open mouth,shaded lips,porcelain teeth,pierced ears, mohair wig over cork pate,phonograph clockwork mechanism in torso that operates from brass key at back torso,tin plate at front torso for sound emanation. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well albeit typically poor sound. Marks: Emile Jumeau presented the Bebe Phonographe in 1893 in collaboration with Henri Lioret who invented the musical mechanism. The doll is preserved with vintage pinafore dress, original signed "Paris Depose" shoes with bee symbol,and one original recording. 24" (61 cm.) You can see video HERE I do a layaway.
