Porcelain shoulder head with black sculpted hair,painted facial features,muslin body,porcelain arms and legs (part of right leg is missing).
Germany,circa 1880, the doll was used for presentation of fortune-telling novelty made for the French market. She is wearing original black silk and brown velvet gown with black and tan lace, trim, matching peaked hat,the fortune teller has an under-skirt composed of hundreds of folded paper fortunes,each with a hand-written fortune in French language.
She is 12 1/2in (32 cm.) excluding hat.
Condition - good condition to age, some wears the paper skirt. Missing part of the right porcelain leg (please look the last photo).
