Bisque socket head, large glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, nice antique costume.
Condition...... Marks: Paris Bebe Tete Dep 3 (incised on head, and with artist checkmarks) ?? Paris Bebe Depose (on torso, with Eiffel Tower symbol). Danel & Cie, circa 1890. Anatole Danel, foreman at the Jumeau firm, broke away from Jumeau and formed his own company, producing dolls whose remarkable similarity to those of Jumeau inspired a famous infringement lawsuit between the two.
