12" Antique French Mechanical Bisque Gaultier Doll on three-wheeled base by Vichy, circa 1875.

Standing upon a three-wheeled tinplate base with spokes wheels is a bisque-head doll with brown glass paperweight inset eyes, painted features, closed mouth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, wearing her original silk costume with lavishly draped hip sash and shoes, holding a garland of brass bells with floral bouquet.

When wound, she glides forward and in circles, raising her arm up and down as though sniffing the flowers she holds.
It is marks: Vichy Paris (underside). Excellent condition of doll and mechanism except fingers broken on right hand (hidden under floral bouquet).
