13.5" (34 cm) Very Rare Museum Quality German Early Wooden Doll. c.1820

I believe this choice doll is worthy of display within the finest doll museums or private collections. This wonderful German Tuck Comb Wooden from the Grodner Tal. Details include noble features that feature entirely original paint. Of special note are the golden eyes with painted striations, all highlighted by original delicate lashes and brows, fanciful curls that brush her cheeks and pierced ears with gilded, wooden, one earring. The incredible carved wood hairstyle includes a spectacular gilded hair comb. On a marvel of a jointed wood body that is fitted with red painted slippers, original dress.
Rare excellent condition!

From the home industry of the Groden Valley, Grodner Tal and South Tyrol, came the little peg wooden dolls. These are some of the oldest surviving dolls.
