17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with very plump face, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, accent line between the lips, pierced ears, original mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset jointing at elbows, hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers.
Condition: generally excellent.
Barrois, circa 1870. Most appealing facial model with fine delicate bisque, dramatic blue eyes, lovely antique original brown silk costume, undergarments, stockings, leather shoes with heels.
This doll has been published in the book of the Maree Tarnowska "Fashion Dolls" (please look the last 3 photos).
