17" (43 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with plump facial shape and pink tinted complexion, thick dark eyeliner, lightly painted lashes and brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset jointing at hips, porcelain arms to above the elbows, blue silk gown with soutache embroidery, undergarments, shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Brevete D.D. SGDG (body). Comments: Duval-Denis, circa 1861, which succeeded the Blampoix firm for only two years, 1861-1862; in 1863 the firm was curiously re-sold to Blampoix. Value Points: rare signed poupee with beautiful clarity of porcelain enhanced by delicate blush, richly outlined cobalt eyes, porcelain arms, signed body.
