Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly painted lashes, widely arched brush-stroked brows, rose-blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with shaded and accented lips, pierced ears, blonde human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body, is wearing lovely antique pink cotton dress, undergarments, socks, antique leather shoes, original pink woolen bonnet (some mole holes).
An especially pretty example of Bebe Reclame, having soft creamy bisque, with beautiful amber eyes.
Condition: generally excellent. Her bisque free of hairline, restoration, any damages, , original Jumeau body with fine original finish.
Marks: (white space at back of head) 5 and artist checmarks.
Emile Jumeau, circa 1890, his Bebe Reclame model, created for Paris department store orders such as Samaritaine whose paper label would have been affixed to a white space at back of head. The untinted white block indicated the spot where department stores could place their own label, promoting the doll as their own store brand.
