Antique Rare French Small Bebe Doll by Emile Douillet for JUMEAU, circa 1890. Antique dolls at Respectfulbear.com

Sweet cabibet size -11 inch (28 cm).

The poured bisque head, glass paperweight blue eyes, closed mouth, pierced ears, cork pate, human hair wig, original wooden body. The doll in excellent condition. No hairlines, cracks, etc. Her head back marked "E. 2 D". signifying Emile Douillet for JUMEAU.

She has diadem of flowers on the head and she is wearing antique off white dress with lace and underwear, antique socks and soft tan leather shoes signed with Boot Symbol. The shoes have ankle straps with brass grommets, leather soles marked with insignia of Boot and "Depose", "2".

Emile Douillet - an associate of Emile Jumeau in the founding of Jumeau and Cie o 1890. Bebe marked "ED" was made by Jumeau presumably using the initials of Douillet. Please look the p.189 of "The Encyclopedia of French Dolls" by F. Theimer.
