Beautiful French Bisque Bebe Brevete with Splendid Eyes by Leon Casimir Bru, Size 5/0

Very beautiful early bebe in rare size with original sturdy body, wig, perfect bisque hands, wonderful antique blue silk dress, undergarments, black stockings, leather shoes with silk rosettes, along with her original underwear.

Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, plump facial modeling, stationary pale blue enamel inset eyes with darker blue outer rims, pronounced black eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes and feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair fleeced wig over lambswool cap and cork pate, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque lower arms and hands, separately-sculpted fingers.

Condition: generally excellent.

Marks: 5/0 (on the back head and shoulder plate) Brevete SGDG Paris (remains of original paper label on torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his first period bebe known as "Brevete" model, circa 1878.

An exceptional and rare example of a classic Bebe with the face that collectors covet!
