The canvas is signed by V. Nessler, 1867 in the corner, and equally on the back, in Cyrillic.
Vladimir Nessler, was a pupil of Alexei Savrasov - one of the key Russian painters of XIX century.
He’s frequently mentioned in the memories of famous theatre painter Konstantin Korovin as the member of the close circle of Savrasov pupils - among Korovin himself, Isaak Levitan, and few other painters.
