Very Rare french fashion poupee by DIMIER.
Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, brilliant cobalt blue glass inset eyes contrast the pale complexion, thick dark eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes and brows, rose-blushed eyeshadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented pale lips, ears pierced into head, original human hair wig, kid poupee body with gusset jointing at hips and knees, kid-over-wooden upper arms and bisque forearms and hands, dowel-jointing at shoulders and elbows. bisque forearms with separately-defined fingers, well-defined knuckles and nails.
Wonderfully-preserved condition of lady and her costume enhanced by beautiful eyes and bisque, wearing original couturier gauze silk gown (condition of the fabric a little fragile because age), original undergarments, bonnet, vintage leather shoes.

Condition: generally excellent. The bisque free of hairline, restoration, any damages. The body in very good condition.

Marks: "DIMIER Les de Jouets d'Enfants... Passage du Caire 43 Paris" (green stamp on torso).
D. (?) - shoulderplate at the back.
Dimier was listed in L'Annuaire du Commerce for 1851 at 101 Passage du Caire, In the 1863 edition of Guide de l'Acheteur en Gros there is a Dimier located at 41-43 Passage du Caire whose business was described as "Manufacturer specializing in dolls, miniature busts of all sorts, selection of oversize dolls.
