14" French Bisque Poupee Simonne Antique dolls at Respectfulbear.com

14" (35 cm).Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,extra neck articulation allowing the head to tilt side to side and forward,cobalt blue glass eyes,painted lashes and lightly feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with shapely torso, gusset-jointed limbs. The body is original, with abdominal stitched in the shape of a "V" created by Leontine Rohmer in 1857 with Eugene Barrois's head, for maison Simonne. Please look the book of Francois Theimer "The Panorama the Parisienne dolls", page 166. The doll wears a very beautiful antique costume of brown velvet skirt and silk jacket, antique hat with beads, undergarments, vintage leather shoes.

Marks: 1 (head and shoulderplate). Condition: generally excellent. Her bisque free of hairline, restoration, any damages. The body in good condition.

The doll was commissioned by the prestige Paris doll shop of Simonne, circa 1865.
