7" (25 cm) doll 10 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 5" trunk (27 x 11,5 x 13 cm).
A wooden-framed presentation box with decorative paper wraps and engraving, hinges open to reveal well-fitted interior,comprising all-bisque black stocking doll by Simon and Halbig with a bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque torso, brown glass inset eyes, long painted lashes, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, original mohair wig in long braids, peg-jointed bisque arms and legs, thigh-high black stockings, brown one-strap shoes, pale pink silk dress with lace trim silk bonnet. Marks: 3. Condition: generally excellent. no chips, restoration, defects. Simon and Halbig, circa 1890, circa 1890, for french market,the doll and trousseau were likely prepared for a luxury Paris boutique Etrennes gift.
The trunk has a paris shop label AU PARADIS DES ENFANTS.
Within the trunk arranged on three layered trays - original costumes including silk jacket, skirt coat, muff, muslin dress and apron, two bonnets, blouse, lace collar and various accessories.
A pristine unplayed with condition, the superb presentation.
