Wonderful marotte with very beautiful doll head! A bisque shoulder head doll with blue glass eyes, pierced ears, open mouth, original blonde mohair wig,is arranged upon a ball-shaped body with wood stick handle. The ball contains a musical movement, and the doll is costumed lavishly in rose, blue and cream silk with gold fringed and balls. When twirled, music plays.

Made in Germany for the French market, circa 1900, the marottes were popular party favors at the end of the 19th century.
