A very beautiful antique mahagony armchair in the fashionable French Empire style for for your cabinet size doll or french fashion poupee.
The stands on four short, straight legs, the two front ones with claw feet. The armrests are inspired by ancient Egyptian sphinxes—mythical creatures with female heads—with wings extending backward, supporting the upholstered arms. The top bar and low part of the chair are decorated with a leaf-shaped elements.
The seat, armrests, and backrest are upholstered covered in burgundy velvet. The upholstery appears to be a later replacement, neatly done and harmonious with the wood of the chair.

The doll standing by it 15" tall (she is not including to this sale).

Excellent condition.

Measures 9 1/2" (24cm) overall length, seat measurements 5 1/4" (13cm) x 5" (12.5cm).
