A very beautiful luminous pure-silk decorative braid with a tightly bound central ladder and fine looped picots along both edges. The trim has a beautiful natural sheen, soft hand, and enough body to hold its sculptural loops—ideal for miniature scale without bulk.
Color reads as red with a warm coral/orange cast (photographed in natural light). This is from old french stock: unused silk trim 25 metres ( 27 yards) on its original factory card. Measures: 3/8" (1cm) wide. Excellent condition, never used. Uses: restoration and creation of antique French Bébé and fashion-doll dresses, bonnets, plastrons and cuffs; heirloom sewing; millinery accents; trousseau and presentation boxes.
