Charming antique crinoline, or hooped petticoat, made for a French fashion doll.
It is beautifully constructed from vivid red wool fabric, neatly gathered at the waist and shaped to create the fashionable full silhouette required beneath a doll’s dress. A single hoop is sewn into the lower part of the petticoat, giving the garment structure and helping it maintain its volume. The last photographs clearly show the interior construction and the casing containing the supporting hoop.
The scalloped lower edge is decorated with a dark woven braid, carefully applied in a continuous pattern around the entire hem.

It remains in good antique condition considering its age, with expected signs of time, some small marks, slight fading, and minor imperfections to the fabric and trim.

A beautiful and increasingly difficult-to-find original accessory for completing the wardrobe of a fine antique French fashion doll.
