14" (36 cm.) Antique An All-Original German Paper-Mache Lady with So-called Apollos Knot Coiffure, c.1840

Paper mache shoulderhead, sculpted black hair with very wide pouf curls and sculpted beehive topknot, painted blue eyes, single stroke brows, tiny closed mouth, blushed cheeks, slender kid body, wooden lower arms and legs.
Rare doll with exceptional coiffure, original finish, original body, and elaborate original cotton dress, underwear.

Germany, circa 1840.

Condition: generally excellent, two minor craze line at side shoulder (please look the last photo).
