15 1/2in (40cm) Antique French Bisque Smiling Doll by Leon Casimir Bru, Original Wooden Articulated Body in Original Dress

Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, ears pierced into head, original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, scallop-edged kid collarette over wooden fully-articulated body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hip, knees and ankles, and with ball-jointed waist.
The doll wearing very beautiful silk original gown, underwear, matching silk hat, vintage leather boots with heels.

Marks: E (head).
Leon Casimir Bru, his wooden-bodied poupee was deposed in 1867. Rare marked letter-model Bru head, and rare fully-jointed body.

15 1/2" (40 cm.) tall

Condition: her head at the back and forehead repainted (professional restoration of very tiny hairline, but this is invisible even under the light). Her face has original painting.
The shoulderplate repainted too.
The body in good condition, slight paint loss.
