16 and 1/2" (42 cm.) French Bisque Smiling Poupee French fashion doll, marked D,by Leon Casimir Bru, 1872.

Bisque swivel head on bisque shoulder plate,blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading,dark eyeliner,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with accented lips and smiling expression,pierced ears, antique human hair wig over cork pate,French kid & fabric poupee body, original underwear, socks, shoes and woolen dress.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1872, the facial model was deposed in that year.
Value Points: beautiful example of the beloved smiling lady with original wig,wonderful costume, fully original undergarments,shoes,stockings.
